The Soviet T-28 had been one of the globe's first medium tanks. The model had been finished in 1931 and production began in late 1932. It was an infantry-support tank intended to break through strengthened defences. The T-28 had been designed to complement the thicker T-35, with which it shared numerous components. The type wouldn't normally have that much success in combat, nonetheless it played an important role as a development task for the Soviet developers.
