Near the end for the 30s, the Luftwaffe required the German industry to make a small and maneuverable ground attack twin-engine aircraft. The initial Henschel HS 129 were delivered inside Spring of 1942 and were immediately used on the Russian front. The Henschel HS 129 was fitted with two 700 hp Gnome-Rhône 14M Mars 14-cylinder two-row air-cooled radial machines, enabling the aircraft to travel at more than 250mph despite its hefty load. Armed with two 7,92mm MG17 machine-guns and two 20mm MG 151 autocannons, it may also carry a number of different bomb types for ground hits. In hard movie theater of Eastern front side, it instantly found its use as a successful anti-tank aircraft. To improve its tank-killing capability, it had been fitted with a robust 30mm MK 101 autocannon, mounted in an outside port in fuselage. Through the war, over 800 HENSCHEL HS 129 had been built.
