This latest generation of Mercedes Benz Actros vehicles premiered on the market in Spring 2003. Regularly transport heavy lots over long distances, these models differ from their predecessors primarily as to security, operating costs and driver comfort. The most important developments can be found in the drive cab interior (built to satisfy even the most demanding truckers), the ever-more powerful engines and technical improvements built to the drive axle. Externally, the new Actros vehicles are characterised by the radiator grill, which may have the fins set more commonly apart to increase ventilation plus the brand new lights with super-clear casings and variable-focus reflectors. All Actros engines are associated with the new V-type Series 500: the V8 engine set up in the 1854 LS variation provides from 503 to 578 HP.
