On June 6th,1944, General Dempsey's troops of British Expeditionary Force, composed by another and 50th English Division and by the Canadian 3rd Division, landed on beaches of Normandy codenamed Sword, Juno, and Gold. The D-Day had thus come. The British Expeditionary Force would be to land and quickly take over the town of Caen. Us americans, landing at Omaha and Utha in western, were to assume control regarding the Cotenin peninsula as well as the Cherbourg slot.
