The 95th regiment had been an average “rifle regiment” of light infantry. It was among the first devices to be equipped with the Baker rifles, remarkably more accurate than ordinary smooth bore muskets. Unlike the British line infantry whom wore the original (and easily spotted) red coats, the regiment had been designed with dark green uniforms which can be considered an earlier kind of “camo” uniform. They fought in loose order, like all light infantry devices of that time period. They participated within the campaign in Peninsula plus in the battle of Waterloo.
