DUKW BRITISH ROYAL ARMY

This big triple shaft amphibian car was developed throughout the 2nd World War for the United states armed forces. The goal would be to build an automobile to provide ammunition, meals and materials - stored in holds of transportation vessels - to invading troops occupying beachheads on enemy soil immediately after landing. The DUKW offered good navigating qualities and could move well off road too, which, coupled with its high load ability, enabled it to perform its logistic part to the full. Within the post-war years, it was widely used by USAs allies all how until the 70s, including civil protection projects.
