During World War II the German Army had to fight frequently fortified jobs or metropolitan protection facilities. As a result of tactical explanation - the troops had been at brief distance on enemy lines - artillery and air help could not be engaged. This led to the development of this “Sturm” - version of the “Tiger” hefty tank (Italeri N. 6471). On the heavy-duty chassis the efficient and unique 38 cm mortar had been installed, which had a brief range but enormous fire power. Just few units of Sturmtiger were built and were mainly used in 1944 in the Western Front.
