The construction regarding the Flavio amphitheater, most widely known all over the World as Colosseum (Colosseo in Italian), began in AD 72 in emperor Vespasian and ended just eight years later under emperor Titus. Integrated travertine and tuff stones, it's the world's biggest amphitheater and it is considered the sign of the majesty of Imperial Rome. The Colosseum was used to host the favourite shows of Roman culture, including the battles between animals, primarily importer from Africa and Middle East while the combat between gladiators. The Colosseum could accommodate up to 80,000 those who could quickly escape, at the end of shows, as a result of today's idea of sitting, stairs and tunnels. Special textile covers referred to as "velarium", operated by experienced military fleet sailors from Misenum, also offered a highly effective security against sun or inclement weather. Today the “Colosseo” is one of the most visited monuments worldwide which is one of the most famous expression of Rome and Italy.
