The delivery of Knights Templar, a monastic and army order, dates back to 1139 as an effort to guard the pilgrims visiting the Holy Land after its conquest. The knights were characterized by a Cistercian's white robe with a red cross. Most templars had been equipped as hefty cavalry and may be viewed a type of elite troop of these times.
