For the Serpent 748, Michael Salven also designed a lighter gearbox, to produce lower inertia. Xli, for eXtra Low Interia.

The adaptor, shoes and bell may also be reduced in size and so have reduced mass, which gives better acceleration general.

The well proven 2-speed gears remain the same as before.

Current 748 Natrix and 747 racers can simply update to the new Xli SL6 gearbox.
