• The 2-stroke, 3-cylinder Honda NS500 replaced the NR500 for the 1982 period. After a disappointing debut period, the NS500 shined in 1983 taking out the championship using the young 21-year-old Freddie Spencer during the helm. Spencer&39;s season long title battle with threetime globe champ Kenny Roberts produced the most exciting periods inside history of GP race. Starting the final round, Spencer lead Roberts by simply 5 points. In a hardcore last battle, despite Roberts taking the checkered banner, Spencer&39;s second placing offered him sufficient points to secure the championship by 2 points, making him the youngest ever 500cc GP champ.
