• From 1988, Masahiro Shimizu was contending inside MotoGP 250cc class, and had been considered by many as a driver with an uncommon talent. He first gained around the world attention by taking pole place at Suzuka in 1987, and after winning the All-Japan Championship that year went on to the bigger MotoGP stage under the sponsorship of Ajinomoto. On highest level, he received Top-10 general ranking finishes in 3 consecutive years before retiring in 1992.
