About the Brabham BT50
In very early 80&39;s Formula 1 had been quite popular so Tamiya made several models based on the real F1&39;s. The Brabham BT50 is not any exception. The 1982 period the Brabham group designed a new automobile, the BT50, around a BMW engine which, just like the Repco engine sixteen years previously, was based on a road vehicle motor block, the BMW M10. Brabham proceeded to perform the Cosworth-powered BT49D inside early the main 1982 period while dependability and driveability issues with the BMW devices were remedied. The relationship came near ending, using the German maker insisting that Brabham make use of their motor. The turbo automobile took its first victory on 1982 Canadian Grand Prix. In 1983 season, Piquet took the championship lead from Renault&39;s Alain Prost at the final race of the year, the South African Grand Prix to become the first motorist to win the Formula One drivers&39; world championship with a turbo-powered car. The Brabham group failed to win the constructor&39;s championship in either 1981 or 1983, despite Piquet&39;s success. Riccardo Patrese had been the only real driver apart from Piquet to win a competition for Brabham within period - the motorists in second vehicle contributed only a small fraction of the team&39;s points in each of these championship periods.
