Honda competed inside 1964 season employing their RA271 machine, piloted by the young American motorist Ronnie Bucknum. Although the RA271 occassionally revealed a glimpse of its hidden potential, it neglected to record any remarkable results. A discouraging period lead Honda to build up a much more built-in F-1 racing device. After the 1964 period, Honda thoroughly improved the equipment and redesignated it the RA272. Its hi-tech and powerful, transversely mounted V-12 cylinder engine was said to produce an incredible 220 plus horsepower.
Richie Ginther joined the group starting the season, and their racing experience helped the team in further refining the RA272. He gained 6th devote the Belgian and Dutch GP&39;s, and finally won the Mexican success on October 24th 1965. Taking the lead right after the beginning, Ginther&39;s RA272 recorded a fantastic victory, without yielding the top position through the entire competition. Partner Bucknum also attained 5th destination, adding to Honda&39;s racing laurels.
