Concerning the Crusader Mk.III Within the 1930&39;s, a Uk objective observed the field maneuvers for the Russian army and were impressed by the performance of a number of their tanks, of affected by the designs of United states Walter Christie. The Uk decided to develop unique quick "cruiser" tank for his or her army and their efforts fundamentally triggered the Crusader. When it joined functional service in 1941 as element of process Battle axe in North Africa, the Crusader was found to be faster than its German counterparts, but had a less powerful gun, slimmer armor, and was not very dependable. Due to delays in growth of brand new tanks, it was chose to mount the more expensive 6-pounder weapon on the Crusader. The more expensive weapon triggered a smaller 3-man turret crew
