German Tank Destroyer Marder III M
Evolutionary Tank Killer
During WWII, the German Army produced and operated the Marder III show, which had been developed to fight Soviet T-34 tanks. The Marder III had been equipped with obsolete Czech built 38(t) tank chassis and arrived at first armed with captured Soviet 7.62cm Pak36 anti-tank cannons. This cannon ended up being later replaced because of the German 7.5cm Pak40 gun for the Ausf.H and final variation, the Marder III M. The Marder III M ended up being put into production in May 1943 and unlike previous variations, the M&39;s cabin had been moved towards the back plus the motor brought forward on mid part. An overall total of 942 M&39;s were produced until the introduction associated with the thoroughbred tank destroyer Hetzer which assumed much of the Marder&39;s role.
