This model depicts the M247 Sergeant York, a committed self-propelled anti-aircraft gun task which the U.S. attempted to develop quickly utilizing already-existing components. It was based on the aging M48 Patton tank chassis, and fitted with two 40mm L/70 high velocity guns and a fire control system that was modified from that regarding the F-16 aircraft. The device consisted of search radar, monitoring radar, low power radar finder, IFF, signal processor, computer and microwave oven switching system. Unfortuitously, the M247 had been plagued by inconsistency and bad performance, additionally the plug had been drawn on project within the mid-1980s with only around 50 manufactured. This model allows hobbyists recreate one of those tools which never quite developed as the designers planned it.
