Concerning the Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf.N The tough Panzer kampfwagen III had been used in all theaters by the German military in WWII and was popular due to its reliability. But the size limitations associated with the tank&39;s chassis implied that armament upgrades had been limited and its own usefulness as a battle tank diminished since the Allies produced more complex and powerful tanks. Using this realization, the final variant of thePz.kpfw.III, the Ausf.N, had been modified into an infantry help tank armed with the short-barreled75mm gun from the Pz.kpfw.IV, that has been being upgraded with more powerful firearms. Starting from June 1942, 700 of those Ausf.N variants, also called Sturmpanzer III, were made and had been usually assigned to independent Panzer Battalions to safeguard the heavier Tiger tanks. The5mm Schurzen armor dress customizations were added through the springtime of 1943.
