After WWI, the German army discovered the significance of blended land and atmosphere assaults to increase the damage for the enemy&39;s forces. This plan, known as the "Blitzkrieg" strategy, amplified the need for reliable transportation vehicles. The "Schell Programme" ended up being introduced, in 1940, to improve the simple production of land automobiles for the German Army. The Austrian-made, 1.5ton, all wheel drive, Steyr 1500A/01 had been an 8 passenger vehicle used in many different roles including staff car, HQ transport, artillery tow truck and ambulance. The vehicle had been designed with a front torsion bar, lead spring back suspension, four speed transmission, air-cooled 8-cylinder 85hp motor, and had a top speed of 100km/h. Towards the conclusion of WWII, some of the automobiles were produced with bulletproof windows, and strengthened metal dish doorways.
