During WWII, anti-tank rifles had been employed by Russian infantry to counter German tanks. One such rifle was the "ProtivoTankovoye Ruzhyo Degtyaryova" otherwise referred to as "PTRD". The solitary shot PTRD fired a 14.5mm shell and had a highly effective range up to 800m. PTRD groups often hid amongst destroyed structures waiting to knock away its next target.
