The M5A1 light tank which was developed through the M3 Stuart light tank was put into manufacturing from January 1943. It was running on twin four-stroke V8 300hp Cadillac gasoline engines which enabled a top speed of 58km/h. It arrived armed with a 37mm main gun and two 7.92mm device weapons and featured additional armor plating on the turret&39;s right part to protect the anti-aircraft device weapon. About 6,800 devices were produced and had been mainly utilized in reconnaissance roles at the Italian and North western European Fronts.
