The Goliath originated during WWII for German forces to make use of as a remote-controlled explosive unit. Its initial Sd.Kfz.302 variation was a mere 160cm long, went on two 12V battery-powered engines, and might keep 60kg of explosives; it had been controlled and detonated via a reeled cable integrated toward rear. Around 2,650 were produced between April 1942 and January 1944, many which were implemented by assault pioneers. These people were largely used for assaulting entrenched enemy positions and mine approval.
