On 26, 1942, Field Marshal Rommel&39;s Africa Corps launched an assault against the British defensive line west of Tobruk which stretched from Gazala to Bir Hacheim. While they advanced, they encountered an Uk product loaded with the latest M3 give tanks which threatened to halt the offensive. The Africa Corps was saved once the 88mm guns regarding the Luftwaffe&39;s anti-aircraft units swung into action. Their accurate long-range fire forced the Uk tanks to retreat, allowing the Africa Corps to keep their advance and in the end capture Tobruk on June 21st.
