Towards Swordfish Mk.II
Affectionately known as the &39;Stringbag&39; by people who travelled them, the Fairey Swordfish torpedo bomber had been outdated whenever WWII broke out, but nonetheless supplied valuable solution and attained such notable missions since the attack on the Italian Navy at Taranto and damaging the German battleship Bismarck. As newer, faster aircraft were developed to restore it, the Swordfish was modified to become an anti-submarine aircraft. The Mk.II featured steel lower wings that allowed that it is armed with ten rockets or level charges, which, and its sturdy design and long stamina, managed to get an exceptional anti-submarine aircraft for use on vendor aircraft companies within the Atlantic convoys.
