with more than 30,000 produced, the Messerschmitt Bf109 is considered the most prolifically manufactured fighter ever; of its variants, the G-6 had been probably the most numerous at 13,000 aircraft. In response to enhancing Allied foes in the air, Bf109 G aircraft had the greater powerful DB605 motor, and through the G-6 had been loaded with twin 13mm MG131 machine guns that needed the distinctive bulges on either side associated with the cockpit cowling called "Beule." Some were also provided a 20mm cannon gondola under each wing for further enhanced firepower. The Bf109 G-6 had been implemented on both Western and Eastern fronts, in particular dominating Soviet adversaries since it proceeded operating until the end of WWII.
