The Intruder A-6A originated since the very first all-weather carrier-based fighter associated with the U.S. NAVY. First implemented in 1963, it was adopted by real functional units from as soon as 1965. Production associated with the early model reached close to 500 aircraft, using the early model popular through the Vietnam War for night attack operations.
