A lot better than hard-anodized shocks, Traxxas Hard-Coat shocks greatly reduce piston/housing friction, and this really helps to prevent the temperature build-up that can cause inconsistent performance. The coating really permeates the T-6 aluminum, which makes it many times more resistant to put on and corrosion.
