The 1K17 Szhatie is a self-propelled laser automobile of Russian origin. The platform uses a MSTA-S framework with a battery pack of laser projectors mounted within the turret. It was developed by the Soviet Union to be able to disable the optical-electronic gear of enemy missiles, ground and aerial automobiles.
The "tank" used a rigorous laser beam to disable the optical-electronic equipment associated with the enemy automobiles.
