Jagdtiger development were only available in February of 1943 and on October twentieth of 1943, wooden mock-up had been presented to Adolf Hitler. Jagdtiger part would be to help infantry and combat armored vehicles at long ranges. Two prototypes, one with Porsche suspension (comprised of 8 roadwheels) and something with Henschel suspension (composed of 9 roadwheels) were finished in February of 1944. Its first designation ended up being Jagdpanzer VI, but down the road it was named Jagdtiger and received quantity Sd.Kfz.186. Manufacturing ended up being prepared to start in December of 1943 but were only available in July of 1944 but Pz.Kpfw V Panther production received priority and Jagdtiger production was slow.
